Tonight I'm finding a way
to make the things that you say
just a little less obvious
I confess

The day so far had been long, boring, and rather uneventful for one Holly Elizabeth Marie Johnson. She had slept in until noon, which is something that Holly never did. Normally, Holly was the first person up in her dorm, save for the few times Edward actually got up earlier for nothing more than a stroll in the park. So for Holly to sleep in until noon was actually quite something. All of her roommates were already gone by time she had gotten up, Preston she assumed was off giving some person shit, waiting around for Razzles to open, She wasn’t sure where Andie was, and she would bet money that Edward was off in the park walking around. Holly had once asked the boy what he found so intriguing about the park, that he would spend hours at a time there. His response had been that he liked to go there to think. Apparently the boy liked to think a lot.
Holly had spent her day on the couch, like she had been for the last couple of weeks. Ever since she had found out she was pregnant she had let her social life slowly fade away. It wasn’t that other people had stopped wanting to hang out with her because she was pregnant, in fact, no one else knew she was pregnant, not even the father of the baby. Holly still didn’t want to admit she was pregnant, and often pretended she wasn’t. Subconsciously though, there was no denying the fact she was, and that was why she had stopped drinking alcohol and soda. Nevertheless, other than those minor things, she lived her life the same way she normally did.
She spent part of her day just channel surfing. She would pause every so often on the sports channel, just to see if she could figure out why this seemed to amuse Edward and Preston so much, but every time it was a failure, as she never really could figure that out. Instead, she turned it to some music channel and walked into her room to retrieve her laptop. Tearing her room apart, she was a bit furious when she couldn’t find the damn thing. This girl was the most organized person she knew, it should have been on her vanity table, right next to her favorite pink lip gloss and her mascara. Yet, not only was it not there, it was no where to be found in the room she shared with Andromeda. Determined to find the damn thing, she tore through the rest of the dorm, before finally going into the room Edward and Preston shared.
Sure enough, there sat Holly’s bright pink laptop, on the corner of Preston’s bed. She let a few cuss words slip out of her mouth as she grabbed her laptop and made her way back in to the living room. That boy was in for a world full of hurt if he touched her laptop again. Like he didn’t have two laptops of his own somewhere in that wreck of a room that Holly refused to touch. Sometimes, she could truly strangle that boy. Flipping her laptop open, she logged onto the school chatsite, and frowned slightly when she saw that no one was on. Of course no one else was on; everyone else didn’t take to start hiding out in their dorm so they didn’t have to face the outside world. Everyone else didn’t think that they could hid in their dorm for the next five or six months. Everyone else wasn’t pregnant. There it was, that stupid ‘P’ word again.
Glancing down at the computer screen once more, Holly saw that her friend Aaron had signed on. She gave a small smile as she greeted him, probably sounding really pathetic and lonely, which she was both at the moment. They talked for a few moments, before Aaron had to go and ruin the conversation. Why did everyone insist that something was going on between Edward and herself? Under normal circumstances Holly would just let it slide and not correct the person, but she knew that Aaron would catch the fact she didn’t correct him, and make an even bigger deal about the whole thing. Instead Holly denied anything going on between the two, which caused a huge debate. Aaron seemed to keep insisting that something was most certainly going on, no matter how much Holly insisted otherwise. Then Aaron did something only Aaron would do; he told Holly that she should sleep with him, if she wanted to prove that nothing was going on between them
Staring at the screen, Holly was shocked at the accusations that Aaron had made. Like Edward would care one way or another on whether or not she slept with him. She couldn’t believe that Aaron would think such things. Edward and Holly were just friends. Best friends really. Sure, they had slept together a few times…and she happened to be pregnant with Edwards baby, not that anyone knew that, but still. What they did with other people was just whatever…right? Of course right. Holly wasn’t going to let something that Aaron said get to her like it was. At first, she thought there was no way she was going to agree with this. All Aaron was trying to do was get her to sleep with him, and that just simply wasn’t going to happen. Not that she didn’t find the boy highly attractive, she would be stupid to think he was not. But she knew that the boy slept with anything that had legs, and she for one did not want to be counted among the boys ‘conquests’.
But the more she thought about it, the more she decided that she might actually need to do this. Not for Aaron, but rather, for herself. She needed to prove to herself that everyone else was wrong, that she didn’t have it bad for Edward. Before she could think twice, she found herself agreeing to come over to Aaron’s apartment. She freaked out slightly when she remembered that Ryder roomed with him, but Aaron had assured her that the place was his for the night. Telling him to give her a few minutes and she would be on her way, Holly logged off and shut her computer. She needed to change out of her Pajamas and shower. Stripping out of her clothes, Holly started the water and stepped in. She debated calling Aaron and backing out, she did not need to sleep with him to prove to him that she and Edward were nothing more than friends. But then another part of her argued that she did need to do this. She knew that she would do this, just to prove to herself that she was right.
Getting out of the shower, she threw on her clothes and blow dried her hair, before running a straightener through it. Grabbing her house key, she scribbled down a note letting Edward know that she was going to hang out with a friend, knowing that if she didn’t, he would text or call her. Making her way out of the dorms, she hopped into her car and drove the short distance to the Apartment complex. Parking her car not far from the apartment that Aaron and Ryder shared, she locked it before putting her keys in her back shorts pocket. She glanced at the door before taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly. I can do this she told herself, fully confident that she could. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a creepy old man standing by his door, staring her down. Rather than wait for Aaron to get the door, and have to deal with the creepy guy, Holly quickly opened the door and darted in, closing it behind her. She really didn’t like creepy people watching her, but then again, who did?
She glanced around the familiar apartment. She had been here a few times to hang out, as she was decent friends with both Aaron and Ryder. Though looking around, she remembered why she didn’t care for coming over here too much. This place made her want to put on a bio hazard suit and break out the Bleach. It was very apparent that two boys lived in this pig pen. It took everything Holly had for her not to go around and start picking up things and breaking out the 409. One day, she would break into this place and clean it when they were both out. No one should live in a place as dirty as this was. Granted, to the normal, average person, the place probably didn’t look bad, but Holly could always find something wrong with the cleanliness of a place.
Stepping in a bit more, Holly looked around for Aaron, not spotting him. With a frown on her face, she hollered out to him. “Aaron Weston, hide and go seek is no fun if the other person did not know you were playing. And, Just so you know, this does not mean I am going to do your laundry.”
