Step away from the peas! "Your joking, right?". A small screech escaped as the soft, tender coolness of the bag of peas was removed from Kate's grasp - her eyes wide as she clutched the carton of cherries for their own protection. The shop clerk before her had clearly seen better days, his gaze bloodshot - hair missing a few spots. Why he was allowed to work here, she would never know. I'm asking you calmly now to step away from the freezer... Kate continued to stare in disbelief as the glorious cool feeling of the surrounding ice made the deathly heat of the day fade for a moment. Was he...serious. Opening her mouth to at least explain, a yell escaped as he revealed the broom from behind him; beckoning it at her. Without further adieu, the petite brunette held the cherries tight and literally ran out of the shop - horrified. Who knew people could be so cruel?
The brunette had recently entered the store in hopes of purchasing the cherries she had promised a certain person...Embry for that matter. The small trade seemed faintly childish, but it made her smile foolishly at the thought. Yet, after spending many minuets choosing from the contents of many boxes, she had soon successfully bought the fruit; only to be distracted with the lovely breeze the freezers provided her sweltering, small form. Of course, she was one to love the summery rays that glistened so proudly against her, but today...it was faintly taking the shiz out of the situation. Sure enough she would be burnt by the end of the day, she had previously taken refugee beside the cool savior of the store's freezers. Only to be shooed out by a crazed clerk who took his job far to seriously.
Shaking her head out of the utter disbelief of such a situation, she found herself patting down the daint white shirt before carrying onward to her destination. Wisely wearing whit, she knew it reflected the heat. One good point for her brain today. The downfall? She was bound to fall, and if in the muddier sides of the forest; she'd look horrific. Minus one point for the brain...leaving her with a total of minus six for her actions today. Darn it. Mind getting back on track, Kate proceeded to march along the streets in a calm manner, concentrating on her footfall hence to prevent herself colliding with the solid pavement, currently glistening from the unnatural heat the sun provided. Still...it was a spectacular change to the usual down cast rainfall.
As she began to ponder of the days events, she couldn't prevent the tiniest flush from forming as she began to giggle some what. She was heading to meet her boyfriend..boyfriend! Such a phrase made her blush increased like an ignited fire, only causing the sun to happily force more heat at her cheeks. Knowing her unfortunate luck, she sun would permanently burn the flush into her cheeks...until such sunburn subsided anyway. The softer giggles continued to erupt from her small form as passer buys glanced toward her with brows rose, unsure to why the young girl was just suddenly giggling out of the blue. Of course, Kate knew...she was going to see Embry! Noticing the stares, she softly coughed and allowed her oceanic gaze to directly fall upon the cherries; face serious in hopes to prevent the idiotic happiness which flooded through out her...stomach chiding with the gust of butterflies she forever felt when in thought of him.
After many moments, she reared her head to glance around her current placement in Forks, realizing the path way not to far from her. Smiling, she gently rubbed at the back of her neck out of habit, loose strands from the messed curled bun escaping and intertwining with her fingers. Never a day passed were her hair would look sane, for her curls were always loose, tangled and a mess. Still, it provided the statement and figure that was Kate. A petite brunette, pale in the skin...and timid. Timid. That was the overall world to describe her, and sadly; she doubted that would change. After all, this was the girl who used to hide behind chairs when her Grandmother would visit within the year. Fun.
Slowly entering the greenery and mud trodden earth of the forest, that sudden feeling of being watched over come her. Shivering in dislike at such a thing, she found her eyes wandering a stray from her path, looking for the source. It was an easy thing to feel in such an area, after all - most horror movie set themselves within such a place, correct? Silly imagination...always getting the better of her. Puffing out her gently pink stained cheeks, she proceeded to wander toward the area she knew from heart, that clearing in which good and bad had took place in her heart...
The soft shrubbery gently brushed against her bare legs as she wandered at a slow and nervous pace, her heart hammering intensely. Almost there...almost. The sudden appearance of a bird swarming into her sight caused a petrified yell to escape, her form ducking to the ground feebly as it flew in an ace manner in the area where her head once was...so she was being stalked by birds now. Well, at least it explain that feeling of being watched. Unable to stop the laughter from her stupid movement, she had that rather random envisioned of the bird actually stalking her. Just to imagine herself one day waking up to a flock of birds outside her window greeting her with a chirp of hey, she almost felt crazy.
Too lost in her giggles, she failed to realized her slowly stretching form had finally wandered into the clearing, the cherries still safe much to her relief. The light murmur of acknowledgment alerted her she was spotted, her eyes sweeping around until that flush finally forced her pale features crimson. Embry...Lids fluttering, she felt a shy but breathless smile form as she feebly waved the box of cherries in the air, almost dropping them much to her embarrassment. Of course, she caught them in a proud manner, stumbling toward him before plodding her frame down in front of him, grin setting in along side the scars of dimples. "I...irm...sorry, if I'm late?" She apologized in a quiet tone, shrugging softly as she felt her eyes finally meet his, heart racing.
Darn her nerves...darn them to hell. Trying to distract herself, she became utterly oblivious to everything around her as she spotted the grapes in his vast, but warm grasp - eyes widening in joy. "They're amazing!" She exclaimed, subconsciously shuffling her now mud stained butt forward so she could prod the bag, cherries softly being placed in his lap so she could further investigate the fruit. So much for nerves...
