go on and t a k e i t way too far to see who we are- - - - - - - - - - - -
when tara had been in school, the school days had been pretty boring. she'd always tried to stay awake during the day, but that didn't work out too well. when she decided she'd drop out of school, she thought days would be a blast. they were still boring, she was sad to discover. mostly ebecause whenever she wanted to talk to someone, she had to consider the fact that they were in class. sure, texting worked, but was that ever the same? nope, not at all. so pretty much she was stuck waiting till the weekends to be able to talk or really hang out with anyone. luckily, this weekend she had plans. her friend rocky had texted her at an ungodly hour, she wasn't too sure which ungodly hour that was now, but he texted her saying that they needed to hang out. they'd spent a good hour texting each other before settling on hanging out at the mall saturday. tara rarely went there unless she absolutely had to, but with rocky, she was willing to take the trip. the boy managed to talk her into doing things she normally wouldn't. and it was still a mystery to her how they because as good friends as they were now. all she remembered was that they had met in her freshman year, and he was in her homeroom last year, and he'd started talking to her. tara hadn't said too much, but the boy was persistant, she had to give him that. she'd talked to him for a majority of the time in homeroom, and he was the only one she would talk to in her homeroom. somehow he didn't annoy her, though his personality really wasn't one that she normally would get along with. the boy was pretty lucky, in her mind.
somehow she found herself reminiscing about that as she lay in bed. it was about nine thirty in the morning, and she wasn't meeting him till about eleven. tara was feeling extremely lazy that morning. usually by eight o'clock if she was out of bed if she was awake, and she'd been awake since seven thirty. but she'd been trying to force herself to go back to sleep, because she'd stayed up half the night looking through her digital camera and seeing which pictures she wanted to keep and which ones she wanted to delete. .... she really did have no life at night. after about ten minutes of laying in bed count imaginary sheep that were hopping over her head, she sighed, forcing herself out of bed. yawning, she got out of bed, opening the window. damn, it was bright outside. blinking against the sunlight that was going in, she pulled the shades down to cover her window. her window was across from the window of the bedroom of one of the brothers that lived next door. there were three, and the one she was across from was the oldest brother, who was twenty four and a heroin addict. it wasn't too friendly... and she honestly didn't trust him. going into the bathroom, she washed her face and brushed her teeth, honestly taking her time. about five minutes later, she found herself getting changed into a pair of green skinnies and a black all time low shirt. walking towards her mirror, she made a face at herself in the mirror. her hair went through so much, that by the time she woke up her hair was frizzy and all over the place. plugging her flat iron in, shelet it heat up as she applied a small bit of eyeliner on. she stared at herself in the mirror for a minute, noticing how pale she was. damn, how the heck did she not see this before?
picking up her flat iron, she quickly straightened her hair so that it didn't look as though she'd just woken up, even if she felt as tired as that. turning off her flat iron ten minutes later, she walked towards her closet, and pulled out her black and white Converse. slipping on a pair of socks, she shoved her feet into her shoes before standing up quickly and grabbing her phone and her camera bag. whenever she was with rocky, she had to have her camera. the boy was just so photogenic. they often took photos together whenever they hung out, and he always looked great in them. she loved taking pictures of the boy, because they turned out exactly how she pictured it, and he didn't mind her camera. she slung the strap over her shoulder as she walked down the stairs quickly. she glanced around, this time not even bothering to ask if her dad was around. the tv wasn't on, so she was certain that he wasn't around. she wondered where the heck he was going off to in the mornings now. she was going to have to ask one of these days.
grabbing a poptart from the box on top of the fridge, she took a bite as she walked out of the house, locking it behind her. she glanced down at her phone, which was clutched tightly in her hand. it was about ten thirty now, and it would only take her about fifteen minutes to walk to the mall. hey, if she had some time to kill before rocky met her, who was she to complain? she loved just walking a round the stores checking out the stuff that she didn't have the money to afford yet. as soon as she got a job she would be so much happier and stop staring at the clothes that she wanted that were displayed in the window. that was often her routine whenever she went to the mall. lately, she hadn't been there so that she resisted the urge to buy clothing with her allowance, because for the entire week she'd had to go out to the diner to get breakfast because one, there wasn't too much food in her house, and two, her dad knew how to cook, and she didn't. that was one thing that she didn't inherit from him.
she quickly texted rocky to tell him that she was on her way to the mall. it took her a minute to think of a place to meet him, but she eventually texted him, saying to meet her at hot topic. that was probably her favorite shop. she was hoping to be able to get a job there soon.. would they hire her at sixteen... it was worth a shot. shaking her head of her future possible job plans, she hit send as she walked down the street. she was so close to the mall, but she stopped suddenly, walking past the park. she felt her lips turning up into a smile as she saw a few kids playing on the swing set. taking her camera out, she figured she'd take a minute to take one shot of the kids. hey, perfect shot, and it worked for her portfolio. bringing the camera up to her eye, she zoomed in the perfect amount before quickly snapping the picture before she got too many weird stares from the parents of those kids.
putting her camera back into her bag, she walked down the street until she was in the mall parking lot. taking the most direct path to the closest entrance of the mall. pulling the door open, she walked in quickly, dodging past a woman who already had seven bags. and it was only almost eleven! how the heck did women get so much shopping down in the early hours of the morning? she just didn't get it. shaking her head, she walked around the first level really quickly before taking the escalator to the second floor, where hot topic was. tapping her fingers along the sidebar thing as she rode up the escalator, she stepped off, a little hop in her step as she got off the escalator. walking through a few people, she managed to stop in front of hot topic. how were there so m any people so early in the morning? she wasn't even half awake yet. she wanted to know how people did it. rocky was one of those people. she'd have to ask him when he came how he was awake in the day.... looking through the window, she ended up just staring at the poster that was there for all time low's latest cd. hm... that was definitely on her list.

* how could you be so , ( SO HEARTLESS ) -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- - ”And now for a blast from your past—“ The radio announcer’s words blared throughout Rocky’s dormitory. Why was the alarm set to an oldies station in the first place? Groaning, his hand reached out for the snooze button but instead fell onto the bedside table on which it was positioned. Why must he be so damn lazy in the mornings? Throwing the pillow over his head, he attempted to shut the man’s roaring voice out of his eardrums. It was a fail however and Rocky was forced to shut the damned thing off and get out of his comfortable bed. Tired and slightly hung over, he simply stood beside his bed glaring at the device that he decided to break him of his slumber. He must have been standing like that for a good two minutes before realizing what he was doing and exactly how pointless it was. Letting a long sigh of defeat escape his lips, he decided he might as well get ready for the day. He had already made plans with one of his best friends Tara and they were sure to be meeting at the mall shortly. There was no way he was going to look anything short of his best for the occasion as she was likely going to take loads of pictures and Rocky’s bad days did not get documented.
Still half dazed, he headed towards his dresser. He simply reached in and grabbed something of everything he needed, not bothering to pay much attention to the article itself. He was fond of piece of clothing he owned so why be picky about what he was going to wear that day? As long as it matched, he was satisfied. He made his way into the bathroom without incident which was quite surprising as when Rocky is tired, he is also dreadfully clumsy. Turning on the hot water, he got undressed and stepped inside. He wasn’t one for long showers, he just liked to get in, get clean, and get out. He was rather particular his hair however and had to wash and condition it two times each. After doing so, he got out and put on his clothes. He had grabbed a Joker shirt and a pair of black skinny jeans. The Joker was his favorite villain of all time. He had dressed up as him for Halloween two years in a row because he was so obsessed.
It took Rocky about another half hour to finish getting ready; most of the time was spent on his hair. He was the type that would go completely mental when he had a bad hair day and just stay indoors. He knew he was being a douche but he really couldn’t help it, he is anal about his hair. Just as he was about to head to the door he felt his phone go off in the pocket of his skinny jeans, he grinned when he saw it was from Tara.”Shit.” He was definitely going to be later than her getting there. He grabbed his keys and quickly made his way to the car, turning his stereo on full blast. He caught quite a few looks with his windows down and Sweeny Todd’s soundtrack playing. He loved to listen to obscene things like that while in the car, people’s reactions were always stellar. He sang along and beat his hands in epic rhythm against the steering wheel. He usually wasn’t in the car by himself, and he didn’t really like it either. He hated being alone even for the shortest of time periods. He was about as clingy as they come.
Pulling into the Mall’s parking lot, Rocky was met with a new challenge—finding a parking space. He mumbled a few swear words under his breath as he drove around for what felt like ages. Finally finding a semi decent spot, he got out of his car and headed for Hot Topic which is where Tara had said she would meet him. Placing his hands in the pockets of his skinny jeans, he soon walked into the store and saw Tara staring somewhat longingly at an All Time Low poster. He grinned as he came in for a hug from behind, ”I fucking love that CD.” He said, skipping the greetings as he rested his head on top of hers. He had just received a paycheck from Cedar Point, where he worked as one of the kids that manages the rollercoasters. He absolutely loved his job. He was pretty sure he was never quitting, they had great pay and it got him and his friends discounts. Seriously, who could complain? He was hoping he could talk Tara into letting him buy something for her as he knew she lived off only her allowance and probably wouldn’t be able to spend any money today. ”You know, a certain bff of yours could buy you that.” He tempted, raising two eyebrows as he looked down at her. If she denied that, he’d carry on about it some other way. She was definitely getting that poster and he was buying it, whether she approved or not.
Rocky and Tara had been friends for a long time now. At least, he thought a year was a decent amount of time to know a person. He had been eyeing her a lot in homeroom, you know typical teenage boy wanting the obscenely shy girl? Yeah, that’s how it was for Rocky. She was gorgeous and just really intriguing. So, he gave it a go at talking to her and at first she hardly responded. He was under the impression that she might hate him for being so determined to be her friend but eventually she obviously came around and the two became quite close. He ended up pretty much ignoring everyone in homeroom and just talking to Tara. They really clicked somehow, even though they were so different. His feelings for her were quite pure now, his lust was still there but it knew to stay in his pants. He wasn’t willing to sacrifice his relationship with Tara. She was practically his best friend.

go on and t a k e i t way too far to see who we are- - - - - - - - - - - -
She needed a job, she knew that. Her father had been trying to get her job everywhere lately, but she just could not manage to find one anywhere. Every place she’d tried was either not hiring, or they did not want her working there at all. Oh well. She knew that she’d have to get one eventually though, because she ran out of money easily. Her dad didn’t give her much allowance, the cheap ass person. That was the only reason why she was standing at the window of Hot Topic, staring at the All Time Low poster that was just sitting there, practically shouting at her to buy it. She rested her head against the window, trying to fight the urge to go in and buy it with whatever money she had. Which wasn’t much. Twenty bucks was all she had saved left; she used a majority of her money to be able to eat in the mornings. Cooking; that was another thing she needed to learn. Maybe she would have more money if she learned to cook… or if her father decided to actually listen to her and stay home in the mornings and actually help her cook. As she thought these things, she felt a pair of arms wrap around her, and she froze for a minute, until she heard a familiar voice, and she put the voice to the face of one person. Her best friend, Rocky.
Smiling, even though he probably couldn’t see unless he paid attention to reflections in store mirrors like she did, she lifted her forward off of the store window as she felt his head on top of hers. “It’s really good, isn’t it?” She’d stolen the Cd from him when she first found out that he had the CD, and burned herself a copy. Now, that was one of the only Cds she listened to when she was trying to get to sleep at night. She was a loser that knew most, if not all, of the lyrics to all of the songs on the CD. She had too much time on her hands, she knew it. She wished that he would lift her head up as that she could at least turn around to look up at him. Oh well, she wasn’t going to wait. Reaching her hand up, she put it on his chin, pushing his head up as she turned around to look at him. “How is it you’re the one with the car, but I got here first?” she said jokingly, smiling up at him slightly. She felt her smile falter a bit as she heard him, and she shook her head. He always did this to her whenever they went to the mall. But no matter how much she wanted something, she wouldn’t let him pay for it. She’d often feel horrible about borrowing anything from people. She was just weird like that.
“A certain bff shouldn’t be wasting his money on a girl who can’t get a job.” She had a bit of a bitter tone because of that. She did not like not being able to get a job. It just made her feel weird. And it made her feel like the places she hired were snobbish places that wouldn’t hire her. “If I can’t get a job by next week, you should help me get a job with you at Cedar Point. That’d be fun.” She loved going there whenever people had free days. She poked him in the chest, looking up at him. “Promise?” She pouted her lip slightly, not sure if she could pull that off. She wasn’t normally the kind of girl to use those kinds of things to get what she wanted. She thought that was pretty stupid. But with Rocky, she was always a little less mature than she normally was. Damn Rocky. He wasn’t a good influence at all. But she couldn’t help but love the boy anyways. Ever since they’d met in her freshman year in homeroom.
She thought back to that, remember how he’d sat down in front of her, turned himself around to look at her and started talking to her. At first, she’d been quiet, not saying much at all. Somehow she’d caved in and started talking to the boy. Eventually, they’d managed to find out things about each other that Tara told no one at all. Somehow Rocky had made it into her list of people that she could easily talk to and not worry about him telling anyone or anything. And plus, the boy was extremely photogenic. She loved taking pictures of the boy, she really did. They had a plan, apparently; Tara was going to open a modeling agency, and be a photographer, and Rocky was going to be one of the agency’s biggest models. They had it all planned out; now when that happened, she was sure that she would love the boy for life. Though that didn’t mean she was saying she didn’t love the boy at the moment. She did. He was probably one of the only people that she got along this well with that wasn’t like her in any way whatsoever. She considered that magical. “How’ve you been, darling?”
