turn a page, im a book, half unread i wanna be laughed at, laughed with just because, i wanna be weightless and that should be enough. "sick, sick of sleeping on the floor, another night, another score, im jaded, bottles breaking, im only happy when im wasted." blake shook his head at the lyircs, silently laughing to himself. he thought it was pathetic that people got drunk all the time. he pushed the next button his iPod and waited for the next song to come on. he looked up as he walked to make sure he didnt run into anyone. he noticed a little girl looking up at him and he rolled his eyes. he knew he was tall and he was sick of people staring. just because he is six feet tall doesnt mean that everyone has to stare. he bobs his head along to the lyrics of the song that had started playing. it was one of his favorites. "shes dancing round, im ready to go, shes so lost in stereo, lost in stereo, shes outta control, so beautiful, lost in stero, lost in stereo." all time low was his all time favorite band. he could see his destination in front of him and he reached his hand forward and pulled the door to starbucks open.
instantly, the aroma of coffee filled his nose. he let a small smile come across his lips and he walked to the line waiting by the counter. blake pulled one of his black headphones out of his ear and let it dangle down the chest of his light blue all time low shirt. he had on a pair of dark skinny jeans and a studded belt. his hair was messy and fell down on his ears like always. he picked up his feet and moved to the counter as the person in front of him was done ordering. he looked up at the girl working the counter. "uhm, a medium black coffee?" his voice was unsure but thats just how it usually is. the girl nodded and pushed some buttons on the register. blake watched as $2.45 appeard on the screen. he dug into his pocket and pulled out a few dollars. he placed them down on the counter as the girl came back with his coffe. she took the money and he took the coffee.
he nodded his head as a thank you and turned around to look at the tables. he searched for the corner table by the window, where he had told this ryder boy he would meet him. blake had decided it was time to leave the schools dorms and move into an appartment. however, money was tight and he couldnt afford it on his own. so when he saw an ad for a new roommate, he called the person up. he had talked to ryder, the boy looking for the roommate, on the phone and blake was uneasy about the whole thing. ryder seemed nice and cool but blake wasnt sure if he could live with people he didnt know. apparently ryder could tell that blake was uneasy about the whole thing because he invited him to meet him at starbucks the next day. blake took a drink of his coffee and stared at the door. he wanted to see the boy that was going to be his roommate that way if he looked lik a complete douche bag, blake could ditch.
just then, the door opened and blake let his mouth drop open. a very, very attractive boy walked into the coffee shop. blake couldnt keep his eyes off of the boy. blake sighed as he finally looked away. with his luck, that would not be the roommate guy and if it was, he would be completely straight. blake shook his head as if to tell himself to stop thinking that. he returned his focus to his coffee and took another drink. blake started thinking about the appartment, wondering if it was a bad idea or a good one. he started picking at the styrofoam coffee cup and looked out the window. blake ran a hand through his hair just as he heard a voice above him. he looked up and felt his entire heart stopped as he looked into the eyes of the most attractive guy he had ever seen.

now, normally, ryder wouldn't wake up early unless he had work that day. he didn't have work that day, but he found himself waking up extremely early. why, anyone wuold ask? well, he was going to be doing one of those roommate interview things today. he wouldn't really do it, but this time he felt like he had too. aaron and him were in desperate need of someone to help them pay the rent for theh apartment. sure, both aaron and ryder worked, aaron making more money than ryder himself, but it apparently wasn't enough with the amounts of food they go through. for two guys that ate about fifteen pounds of food a day, they were both extremely scrawny and skinny. but anyways, since they were in need of someone to help pay the rent, ryder had made up some spiffy little ad and hung it up around town, hoping that they'd at least get a few calls. they'd gotten a few, but they were mostly from girls. and that was kind of awkward, though aaron wouldn't mind. ... ryder honestly wouldn't either. but it was still weird. but he talked with them, and the two girls were extremely... just not girls that ryder figured he would get along with. so, those two were out, and they desperately still needed someone. a few days later, ryder had gotten a phone call from this guy named... blake? jasper? his first name was jasper, but he liked being called blake. probably his middle name or something. talking with him for a few minutes over the phone, he was actually interesting sounding. but he sounded... awkward? ryder guessed that he was new to apartments and stuff, so ryder thought maybe helping him out would be fine. ryder suggested meeting at starbucks for a formal 'interview'. that was the only reason that ryder was up early.
after throwing on a pair of skinny jeans and a black the devil wears prada shirt, he grabbed his keys and wallet before walking out out of the apartment. walking down to the parking lot in the back of the apartment complex, he found his black mustang and hopped in. he loved his baby; he took better care of it than he took care of himself at times. starting up the engine, he started up the car before pulling out of the parking lot and driving towards starbucks. sure it was a waste, because starbucks was ten minutes by foot, five by car, but ryder was lazy when the time came. reaching his destination in no time, he parked at the curb and got out of the car. locking the car, he walked up to the door, pulling it open. waving at linda, the girl who was behind the register, he glanced around really quick. there were quite a few people there, but he figured only one of them could be this blake kid that he was looking for. there was one sitting down somewhere in this. he saw a guy with brownish hair that had blond streaks in it, and he was theo nly one that looked as though they were in high school. hm.. yeah, the one guy had to be him. he doubted this 'blake' guy could be the old man seated by the window with an elderly lady across from him with the newspaper between them open to the crossword section, or the tough looking biker guy that was in the corner giving everyone death glares. and definitely not the little kids that were with their fifty year old looking mother.
turning towards linda, he ordered his regular vanilla latte. tapping his fingers rather impatiently, he pulled his wallet out, taking out the money needed before she even told him. hey, he worked there, course he would know how much he was supposed to pay. grinning at her and thanking her, he handed her the money and told her to keep the change. he gave her a sly wink, because he flirted with the poor girl more than needed, even if she was a sophomore in college. turning around, he took a sip of his latte before heading towards the table where the one kid was seated. "hey. blake, right?" he looked down at him, and ryder felt awkward, standing while the guy was seated. as the kid looked up at him, ryder waited patiently, a goofy grin on his face. he dearly hoped this was the kid he was supposed tob e talking to, or else he probably looked like a complete retard. oh well. ryder was used to lokoing like a jackass anyways. taking a seat across from the kid, he held out his hand. "ryder daniels. we spoke on the phone, right?" he quickly took a sip of his drink before continuing. "about the apartment, rent situation?"

i took an oath but im giving it up, you didnt have to see things my way, nothing more than a casual fuck, isnt that how we operate?. blake listened to the voice of the boy standing in front of him. hearing his name in question, he nodded. blake smiled slightly as the boy sat down. he raised an eybrow at the kid and decided to mess with him a little bit. he listened as the boy spoke and blake let his eyebrow raise a little higher. "i dont fucking think i said you could sit down." blake kept a straight face as he stared at the boy. he was hoping the boy could take a joke because if he couldnt, blake would not want to live with him. blake took a sip of his coffee. when he placed the cup back down on the table he let a smile spread across his lips. he stuck his hand out to gree the boy, letting out a small chuckle. "im just kidding. you're right, im blake." blake wasnt normally like this; joking. he usually was just quiet and reserved but there was something about this boy that made him feel comfortable. he felt as if he had known ryder for years.
blake ran a hand through his hair, immediately returning back to his awkward self. he looked down at the table and bit down on his bottom lip. blake looked back up at ryder. "so... about this appartment. i've never lived with anyone before... im kind of afraid i guess." blake shrugged. he didnt want to seem like a wimp or anything but he did want ryder to know who he really is. "i mean, what if you guys like ended up hating me or something?" he raised an eyebrow at ryder and waited for his response. blake took another drink of his coffee that was starting to get a little cold. he noticed that ryder had brown eyes and he couldnt help but stare at them for a minute. blake loves eyes. he thinks they are the most amazing thing on a person.
just then, blake heard a persons voice get very loud. he glanced to his side to see a young couple arguing. they were probably in their early twenties. the girl was very pretty; tall with long brown, curly hair. the boy was cute, too. he was a little taller than the girl, curly blonde hair; total surfer boy. the girl was obviously upset and blake could tell the boy looked sorry. blake listened as they argued. "how could you do this to me?" the girl said to the boy. "im sorry. i told you it didnt mean anything to me. i want you! the boy replied to her. blake watched the girl shake her head and he felt instantly bad for her. blake looked back at ryder. "what a douchebag." he shook his head and watched the girl storm out of starbucks. "i mean... he cheated on her then he takes her to a public place to tell her, in front of all these people. come on now." blake rolled his eyes and then let out a small laugh.

hearing the boy's statement, he raised an eyebrow, a slight smirk on his face. "well, i'm sitting here now." ryder was pretty stupid when the time came. usually he'd do stupid shit, and often it resulted in him getting into a fight. but he was pretty sure that this kid wouldn't hit him... hopefully. ryder's smirk softened to a grin when this blake kid smiled and shook ryder's hand. "nice to meet you blake. you already know, i'm ryder. you can call me chace, if you want, because that's my middle name." shrugging, ryder took another sip of his drink as he watched this blake kid. he did seem pretty awkward; maybe he was just nervous? or maybe he was reconsidering moving in with them? ryder wasn't too sure yet. "so, what's up with you, man?" small talk usually broke the ice, he figured. this kid looked like he needed something else to distract him from feeling awkward about this apartment shit.
he knew it. hearing blake's little talk, ryder nodded, taking a sip. "well, you kno--" he was about to say something else when he heard the rest of blake's statement. he couldn't help but laughing. leaning back in his seat, he crossed his legs, crossing his arms in front of him, his latte forgotten on the table. "all right. you have no reason to be afraid. come on, it's two guys, needing ar oommate, and you need an apartment. we need someone to help us pay the rent. you have nothing to worry about unless you have aaron being a douche and hitting on you when he's wasted." he smirked thinking about it. knowing aaron, aaronw ould totally hit on blake if he was drunk after partying with whoever he'd been with that night. "but hey, don't worry about that crap. you don't look like you'd be the kind of roommate that'd hog the shower for three hours, or be anal about keeping a room clean... are you?" he raised an eyebrow at him, teasing him slightly. neatness was something ryder didn't too well. neither did aaron, honestly. so he hoped this blake was okay with messiness, or else this was goign to be a total bust. watching blake turn to the side, ryder caught himself staring at the boy for a few seconds l onger than necessary before he turned his head to follow blake's gaze. watching a couple arguing, he raised an eyebrow, glaring at the guy. if there was anything ryder hated, he hated cheaters. he thought it was absolutely stupid, and it was just extremely mean. why go out with girl you knew you were just going to sleep with some other whore and break the other girl's heart? that was just uncool. hearing blake's sentence, ryder nodded, though his head still on the argument. the girl deserved better. "she deserved better than him." she serious tone in ryder's voice was proof of how he felt about the situation. it was probably one of the only times that ryder was serious about anything, really. turning back to blake, he leaned forward, taking his latte and taking a sip, even though it had cooled down a lot. making a face at it, he looked back at him. "okay. what can i exactly say to talk you into rooming with us? we need someone to help pay the rent, and working here isn't going to be able to pay rent. i mean, just met you and all, but you have not hing to worry about. i think you'd fit in fine. aaron honestly isn't as much of a douche as he acts, and i'm not a complete slob?" he shrugged, chuckling slightly. "and if you order now, you can get a free car!" he put on his radio talk show host voice, though he earned himself a few funny looks. hm... maybe he was louder than he thought..... he looked around, seeing all the people that were still giving him odd looks. waving a hand above his head at them, he turned back to blake, a cheesy grin on his face as she scratched the back of his head.

theres no need to talk it out, cause its too late to proceed, and slowly i took your words and walked away. watching the scene in front of him, he was reminded of a day he had wanted to forget. blake thought back to the last relationship he had been in. it was with a boy named tristan. "hey blake..." tristan said as he approached blake. blake smiled at him and kissed his cheek. tristan looked down at the ground and immediately blake knew something was wrong. "whats wrong tristan? are you okay?" blake asked curiously. blake reached over and took tristans hand in his. tristan pulled his hand away and blake looked up at him, confused. "what... what did i do?" blake asked, not sure of what was going on. tristan motioned for blake to sit down on the black leather couch in tristans living. blake hesitated for a while before deciding to sit down. he watched as tristan sat beside him but far enough away that blake couldnt reach him. tristan put his elbows on his legs, leaning forward, he put his head in his hands. "i... i... did something... bad," tristan said to him.
blake was shook out of his thoughts as he heard ryder say that the girl deserved better. blake nodded in agreement before returning his thoughts to the memory. blake bit down on his bottom lip and moved closer to tristan. he shook his head as he ran a hand through tristans hair. "i'm sure whatever it is, it isnt that bad," blake tried to reassure him. tristan turned his body so that he was now facing blake. "i dont know how to say this blake..." tristan said to him. blake shook his head again, silently pleading him to just come out with it. tristan took in a deep breathe. "look blake, you know that i love you, right?" tristan asked. blake nodded. his body had gone numb and he couldnt seem to speak because he knew something bad was waiting to come out. "i will always love you blake but... i mean, i was out last night and i dont know what came over me. we've been together for so long that i forgot what it felt like to be with anyone else and i guess i kind of missed it." blakes eyes widened as he realized what tristan was saying. "you cheated on me?" blake asked as he moved his body away from tristan. tristan hesitated before answering the question with a nod. blake looked down at the ground. he couldnt believe what had happened. blake stood up and silently walked to the door. he pulled the door open and glanced back at tristan. "well i hope you enjoyed it." with that said, blake walked out the door.
his thoughts were brought back to present day as ryder asked him what he could do to get him into the apartment. blake gave him a small smile when he mentioned the car. blake let out a small laugh as ryder waved at the people looking at him. "well, if theres a free car..." blake grinned at ryder. he took a sip of his drink before speaking again. "before i decide anything, do you think that i could... see it?" blake raised an eyebrow. "i mean.. i don't want to impose or anything..." blake held his breathe as he waited for ryder to respond. did people usually see the apartment at these interview things? blake had no idea. he had never been in this position before. blake stood up, taking his coffee with him. he walked to the trashcan and dropped the coffee cup in. he looked back at ryder and let out a breathe. this wasnt going as bad as he thought it would. he walked back to the table and stood beside ryder. "so? what do you say?" he smiled politely at him.

i fought it for a long time now white drowning in a river of denial- - - - - - - - - - - -
ryder couldn't help but watch that little scene, feeling bad. the girl really did deserve a lot better. any guy who broke up with their girl like that in public really was an ass. that was one thing ryder couldn't stand; why mamke it worse for both of them? eh. he was letting his thoughts get in the way of this damn interview. he really didn't want to either; he knew this kid should be their roommate, but he only insisted for his sake because he was so fucking nervous. it was actually kind of adorable...shaking that thought out of his head, he looked back at blake, who was off in his own little world, ryder had to assume. hey, everyone had their own little worlds. ryder was in his constantly during school days. that might have been why he hadn't passed english class with high marks...
but he knew that car statement would've worked. hearing him laugh as ryder did a typical ry thing and waved at the customers, he grinned his cheesiest grin, looking at blake. "well.... free might have a different meaning in your book..." he got a shifty look on his face, but he grinned all the same. at least until he asked if he could see it. he wasn't too sure... he wasn't sure if aaron was around... and if aaron was... damn, this blake kid would probably run for his money if he met aaron. unless the ass was sober... which was kind of rare nowadays... shaking out of his thoughts, he caught the word impose, and ryder shook his head spastically, his hair flying all over the place. muttering words he knew his parents wouldn't want him to say, he reached up, flattening his hair quickly. if there was anything ryder was particular about, it was his hair. he was more anal about it than his friend jayden... and that was staying something since the boy had to flat iron his hair to make it like that, while ryder just had to brush it and bingo! perfect hair... gosh, he was a loser.
"i'm fine with it.... oh, and whatever my roommate says..... or does, ignore it? and don't let him scare you off if he gets... well... grabby." shrugging nonchalantly, he pushed himselff out of his seat and stood up, finishing off his caramel latte. "let's go then, bud. my ride's outside." he tried to sound like the cool, tough guy. course, that just wasn't ryder, he knew that, and he was sure as hell that blake didn't believe it either. walking over to the trashcan and throwing out his drink, he waved to the girl working behind the counter ( damn, he couldn't ever remember her name, she was new ) and walked out the door, pretty sure that blake was following him. hello, hadn't the kid wanted to get the tour of where he was going to be living. ryder was going to talk this kid into living with him. he was pretty interesting so far, and ryder was certain aaron would too... or at least find him attractive like ryder did.
jumping into his car, he started the engine, only backing out when he was sure that he heard the passenger door closing. pulling out of his spot, he drove off down the street, taking a right to pretty much go back in a complete circle to his apartment. picking up his cell phone really quick, he hit the speed dial for aaron's cell, calling him to see where he was. receiving nothing, he figured that aaron was either out of the apartment with someone, or just too wasted to even pick up the phone.. he wasn't sure which one he wanted to be true. hanging up, he shrugged. "i guess you'll have to meet my room mate aaron later. ..... the later the better, maybe. i'll call you to move in when he's drunk. that way he won't say too much." hes aid, speaking in a light hearted tone. aaron wouldn't care, he was sure. he'd just hate the last minute thing. oh well; ryder did everything at the last minute. it was something aaron was used to by now... at least he should have been.
damn, he shouldn't zone out while driving so much. he almost drove past his apartment. pulling up and parallel parking between two cars he did not know who they belonged to, he took the keys out of his ignition and got out of his car, walking up the stairs. well, not really walking, more like hopping the steps. he skipped three at a time; he could at least make sure that the apartment was decent looking. pulling out his key, he opened the door quickly, taking a quick peak in. well... it wasn't too messy. turning around, he looked at blake, that grin on his face once again. "i don't think aaron's in, so we don't have to worry about him. sorry about the mess though... i've been working, aaron's been....... i don't want to know, or tell you what i think, so...." shrugging, he pushed the door open and waltzed in. damn, this was why he shouldn't drink coffee from starbucks. he was more of a weirdo than normal with sugar... or caffeine in his system. "so, there's the kitchen area.... and this here's by bedroom, that's aaron's, and, if you move in, this would be yours." walking towards the last bedroom, he pushed the door open. the room was sort of bare, with nothing but a bed, a dresser, and a window in it. shrugging, he turned to blake. "you can pimp the place up as much as you want, bud. as long as you help us make rent, it's all yours."

well, i'll state something rash, he had the most amazing, smile. blake smiled when ryder said that they could go see the place. part of blake was nervous. mainly because he was going to be alone with a cute boy in an apartment. things can happen. blake cleared his throat as he watched ryder get up and throw his own drink away. walking behind ryder, he saw the car that ryder was getting into. blake smiled to himself as he climbed into the passengers seat. blake felt the car start and he buckled his seat belt. he watched out the window as they drove to the apartment. he looked as ryder called someone and watched him hang up. hearing him say that he'd have to meet the roommate later, blake nodded. he was completely okay with meeting the other guy later. watching ryder parallel park, blake started to get even more nervous. once ryder turned the car off and got out, blake got out and followed slowly behind him.
blake walked slowly up the stairs, letting ryder get into the apartment first. blake let everything ryder was saying slip right through his ears as he walked through the apartment. he was taking it all in. he smiled at the mess. blake watched ryder point out the kitchen and the two rooms. finally, he got to the room that would be his. blake walked closer to ryder and glanced into the room. it was pretty empty and boring but blake would make it his own. blake smiled at ryder as he said that blake could pimp it out. blake walked away from the room. "i like it here... it feels... right." he grinned as he walked into the kitchen. he pushed himself up and sat on top of the counter. he smiled down at ryder. "well... when do i move in?" blake grinned as he waited for ryders reaction.
blake looked to the side at the cupboards. he raised an eyebrow and opened the one closest to him. he laughed hard as he saw what was inside. a pair of panties hung on top of a bottle of vodka. blake pulled the bottle out and took the underwear off. "uhm..." he coughed back his laughter. "well ryder... you have lovely taste in underwear. i bet these look pretty good on you." blake held a straight face for about three seconds. he started cracking up. there was no way he could contain his laughter on that. he set the vodka down on the counter and looked back in the cabinet. he pulled out more bottles. one was a bottle of blueberry vodka, one was an unopened bottle of bicardi 151, and the last things in there were two things of Four Loko. One was fruit punch flavor and the other was citrus. he smiled at ryder. "shall we toast to having a new roommate?"
blake jumped down off the counter and started opening other cabinets. he opened one of them and found the cups. he knew they had shot glasses seeing as how much alcohol they had. finally finding two shot glasses, he brought them down and put them on the counter. he poured a shot of bicardi 151 in each of them. bicardi 151 is some of the strongest alcohols blake had ever had. four shots of that and he was gone. but that was mainly because he is a light weight. blake held out the shot to ryder and raised an eyebrow, wondering if he was going to take it. blake closed his own eyes and took the shot as fast as he could. slamming the glass down, he shook his head. "that is disgusting." he laughed to himself.
